Youngevity – Is it a scam? Our detailed Review
It’s easy to see how a company who targets this desire would be popular. This brings us to do a Youngevity Review in the hopes to give you some information on this company to help you decide if it suits your needs.
Youngevity International – Who are they?
Drs. Joel D. Wallach and Ma Lan founded American Longevity in 1997
Youngevity, as it is known today is the the direct selling company. They’re a global direct marketing company dedicated to improving lifestyles by selling health related products.
They have more than 400 nutritional formulas including gourmet coffees as well as health and wellness-related services.
They are an international company with representatives in most countries including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the United States.
Youngevity Products
This company has a pretty broad product line covering major areas like:
- Health & Nutrition
- Weight Loss
- Blood Sugar
- Bone & Joint
- Digestive Support
- Brain & Heart
- Athletic Performance
Youngevity also has Supplements which include Vitamins and Minerals, Liquid Nutrition, Beyond Tangy Tangerine and Rebound FX Energy.
Other Youngevity Vitamins include:
- Memory FX –
- Pro Biotics
- Cleanse FX
- SMART FX
- Selenium
- Dtox

- Anti Aging
There are many combo packages to choose from. They also have other more general products like:
- coffee
- healthy chocolate
- general food
- makeup
- hair care
- art and crafts
- home and garden
- pet products
There seems to be lots of products that people could recommend so in this respect it looks quite good.
There tends to be mixed reviews on the Youngevity Supplements by those who have used them. I personally haven’t used them so I couldn’t comment on that but what I do know is online business so I will keep my focus on that.
Youngevity Compensation Plan
The youngevity compensation plan pays out retail commission on products sold and they also give you the chance to earn residual income and bonus affiliate commission from selling CEO packs.
Youngevity works on an infinite depth Uni-Level compensation plan which is based off a MLM business model. MLM is Multi-Level Marketing and does have a negative tag attached to it.
Uni-Level means that when a CEO recruits a distributor they will go on to their first level. If any of your distributors recruit other distributors they will be placed on their first level (your second) and you will keep building outwards.
How Do You Make Money With Youngevity?
You get paid out for the total commissions earned by your Uni-Level team. The depth you get paid for depends on what affiliate sales rank you are. Money is made by selling the physical products and by recruiting distributors.
There are 7 Affiliate Membership Ranks that all have different payout percentages. Starting from:
- Junior Independent Marketing Director earning 5% of total sales from level 1 and 2 right through to a
- Vice-Chairman and Chairman Marketing Director – 8% on levels 1 and 2, 7% on level 3, 6% on levels 4 and 5, 8% on levels 6 to 8 and 2% on all remaining levels.
Youngevity Scam
With any company who promotes the opportunity of making money, especially if they are a MLM modeled business there will always be some negative points of view.
Youngevity is not immune to these claims
Some people like to yell scam for various reasons without thinking. The truth behind a scam is deceiving people to think they can make money but in actual fact they cant.
Some people call any MLM a scam or a pyramid scheme but this simply is not accurate and a misuse of the word. There are many legitimate MLM’s our there (Avon, Tupperware, Amway).
This Multilevel Marketing business model isn’t for everyone but it definitely is not a scam.
I would say no it is not a scam because there are ways to make money from the system. Is it the best way to generate wealth? Well in my opinion no.
There is a lot of work involved with MLM businesses. The time and effort you need to place in your down-line is tremendous. If your down-line breaks down then your income get cut.
MLM is a hard business to stay focused on because of the negativity that comes with it. Admittedly 90% of the negativity is uneducated but none the less it makes it hard.
This creates a lot of work for you. Motivating, inspiring an guiding 12+ hours a day.
Youngevity Reviews
A search on the internet will bring a host of Youngevity Reviews. Some will be from insiders promoting the opportunity and others will be from people who had a negative experience.
From my research the reviews are pretty well mixed. No one point stands out so from here I will draw my own conclusions based on my knowledge of MLM structures, offline and online business and my gut instinct.
My Recommendation
I believe there are better ways to make money. Especially if you value time as much as you do money. Lifestyle is the balance we all look for and this will take up a tremendous amount of time and energy.
I would much rather be in control of my income and be paid on my efforts. I don’t like relying on people below me to make me money. This is why I recommend affiliate marketing.
My Conclusion
First I will start with the good points.
There seems to be a lot of support which is good. In this type of industry lots of people will lose focus and drop off so if you are going to make a go of Youngevity then you need to be in it for the long haul.
The company has been around for a long time so in a way it has stood the test of time. This gives me a bit of faith in its ability to stay afloat in this economy.
Now on to the negatives.
The outrageous claims of some of the products leaves a bad taste in my mouth. To make claim that by taking this pill it can cure fatal diseases is not right.
Personally I do not think this style of marketing is very ethical. Some people would cling to anything that resembled hope and I feel using this style of marketing is not right (and illegal!)
This brings us to the end of our Youngevity Review. I wish you all the best no matter what you choose to do! Make sure you like, comment on this page and subscribe to my monthly newsletter.

Thank you for this review. I have been wondering about the legitimacy of Multilevel marketing schemes for some time and I found your review highly informative. And I agree with you that Affiliate Marketing is still a better option. Keep up the great work!
hello Beau,
Great review there are so many scams out there, and this is another one of them I will be avoiding this Youngevity group thanks.
it amazes me how companies make false claims and get away with it…worse is they train every body who joins to go out and break the law by making product claims like that…thanks for the review 🙂
I AM MORE INTERESTED IN FINDING OUT IF THERE PRODUCTS ARE ANY GOOD. NOT INTERESTED IN SELLING JUST TAKING.
That is fine. I am sure there are many articles out there that go into detail about the products themselves. I personally look at things from a business point a view. Thanks for stopping by
My grandmother 91 is using it she is performing and behaving better. My older sister turned her on to it during a health crisis which turned out to be light in the end. Thank God for this product.
That is awesome to hear! I am glad you have had some immediate success with the products. Thanks for stopping by
