In todays post we take a look at Ameriplan and see how it works and what it’s all about. For the sake of transparency, I would like to note that I’m not affiliated with this company in any way, I am just offering my personal opinion.
With that out of the way lets proceed…
What is this opportunity about?
This is a multi level marketing company that promotes discount pricing plan for services. The aim is to help consumers save money from their usual spending.
Careers & Jobs
Its basically a job where you can earn a residual income from referring other people to sign up to the scheme and either use the benefits or promote the system.
There has been some confusion that this was a health insurance plan but this is incorrect. Ameriplan does offer some quite a few discounts on a range of different services such as Ameriplan Dental and a few stores such as Dell, Office Dept and many more.
How Does it Work From Home?
It costs to become an agent. There are 3 different levels you can purchase depending on whether you want to be an agent who sells the benefits or a recruiter of the business itself.
The costs range between $50 – $150 per month. The higher level you pay the higher commission you recieve. There are also some start up costs that range between $70 – $170.
How Can You Make Money?
As mentioned above you can make money by selling the benefits to other people to which you will receive a commission. The other way is to recruit more people to work under you as recruiters themselves.
This means you will start to earn residual income from their participation within the scheme.
The real question is:
Can you make money with? Some have made money. Especially if they are a good sales person, but for a lot of people out there who aren’t gifted with sales will struggle.
With the monthly costs to promote the system its safe to say some people have lost money.
There seems to be a lot of confusion around whether this system is a health benefit plan.
The truth is:
Its not. It just offers a discount on the service. There are no benefits for you.. A lot of the recruiters and agents are very vague on this.
This is what bring us to a common complaint about the agents themselves and their deception when asked about the health benefits.
But wait there’s more:
Another big complaint is that you are essentially paying them to have this job??? I mean really? The monthly fees are high, especially if you want to receive the highest commission per sale.
Another complaint is that in order for you to redeem your discount you need to first pay the full retail price and then apply to get the discount reimbursed.
The last problem is that there is no real product to sell. You have to sell the idea. The idea of potentially saving money if you ever require the services.
Is it a Scam or Legit?
Technically no its not a scam because they do offer some form of product to sell. What is bad is the negative practices of some of the agents who promote the system.
The truth is that Ameriplan is making money from their agents who are paying the monthly fees. They want you to recruit and make it difficult to take advantage of the benefits provided.
This particular opportunity is not high on my recommended list if at all. The network marketing model in itself has its flaws but the marketing strategy behind this company makes things worse.
Here’s the real reason why people will fail:
Its because you will run out of leads. Everyone does… Eventually
Then you will have to try and create new leads from somewhere and this is not easy.
If you are trying to make some extra cash or maybe you want to replace your income then I suggest you try affiliate marketing. Its how I made my first money online and how I continue to do so today.
